Unity House

Unity House is a refugee house run by the South Meriden UMC. The Central District of the NY Annual conference has adopted the Unity House as a special project.

Fostering Love

In Connecticut, DCF is forced to remove children from their homes when the children are neglected, abused or in immediate danger. These children often arrive at their temporary foster home with only the clothes on their back. We are providing back packs to each child containing pajamas, a change of clothes, toiletries, a stuffed animal, etc.

Caring Hands Ministry:

Knit and crochet lap blankets for the veterans at the VA Hospital in West Haven and also for chemo patients at Mid State Medical Center. Each person is given a blanket and a copy of The Upper Room. The patients really appreciate these blankets. One patient said “It was like being wrapped in a great big hug”.  If anyone is interested in knitting or crocheting blankets or donating financially so we can continue this mission please contact Jan Richardson or Nancy Tracy.

U.M. ARMY

U.M. ARMY is celebrating 40+ years in ministry! Our program has grown but our mission is still the same.To provide Christ-centered missions that serve people in need and promote spiritual growth and leadership development in youth and young adults.
More Than Mission Work
Responding to the needs of our neighbors is our primary missional focus but United Methodist Action Reach-out Mission by Youth also provides an opportunity for youth and adults to experience Christian growth through service to others. Participants combine their strengths and resources to meet home repair and maintenance needs for low income, elderly and disabled homeowners who are physically or financially unable to make needed repairs themselves.
